Welcome to HHS Girls Water Polo!

Water polo is a competitive-physical-fast paced team sport. It was created as a combination of soccer, rugby, wrestling, and American football — all while treading water!

This is an exciting sport and if you're up to the challenge you should come to our pool during the fall.

Hillsdale High School Water Polo was started by Hamdija "Andy" Hodzic and who coached the program for over 15 years. He established a welcoming and fun environment for all. With a positive and competitive space, Hodzic created our Knights have won the division many times during its history. We honor his love for the sport by continuing to create a fun and welcoming environment for students who play water polo!

We take pride that our past and current girls create a bond for life.

Our JV girls have had two undefeated seasons and our Varsity girls received second place in the PAL last season.

CONGRATS to the Hillsdale JV Girls Water Polo Team for clinching the divisional FIRST PLACE spot with an Undefeated Season!!

With their 9-8 victory over Sequoia HS last Friday, the Lady Knights JV Water Polo Team went on to claim the #1 spot in the PAL standings with an impressive record of 10-0-2. Congratulations to these 14 amazing young women and to Coach Jina Button and Asst. Coach Katie Bratt for this impressive performance!! Go Knights!!

“Our JV team consisted of fourteen amazing student athletes, who came together as a team at the start of the school year. The girls competed with a tenacious spirit in the pool week after week from the first preseason game back in August up until the final game this past week.  Never did their prowess waiver as they learned the game, executed strategy and bonded as a group of friends and teammates.  Their desire to learn the game lead them to have a fun, positive and winning season, congratulations ladies!” --- Coach Button

“Many of the girls on this team began their water polo careers this year.  They joined the program knowing nothing about water polo but had this incredibly desire to learn and it showed every single day. These girls worked hard and gave 100% effort and it showed in every game they played. They are kind, smart and the embodiment of a cohesive team that all coaches desire. I feel lucky to have seen them grow this year. Congratulations JV on your incredible season!” – Asst. Coach Bratt
